چکیده

In this paper, we propose a new method for supervised motion segmentation based on spatial-frequential analysis and dimension reduction techniques. A sequence of images could contain non-ridge motion in the region of interest and the segmentation of these moving objects with deformation is challenging. The aim is to extract feature vectors that capture the spatialfrequential information in the training set and then to monitor the variations of the feature vectors over time in the test set. Given successive images in the training set, we consider a dynamical model that extends the sliced inverse regression in Li (1991). It is designed to capture the intrinsic dimension of feature vectors that holds over a local time scale. These projected features are then used to classify training images and predict forthcoming images in the test set into distinct categories. Theoretic properties are addressed. Simulation studies and clinical studies of a sequence of magnetic resonance images are reported, which confirm the practical feasibility of this new approach.

Iterative sliced inverse regression for segmentation of ultrasound and MR images

In this study, we propose an integrated approach based on iterative sliced inverse regression (ISIR) for the segmentation of ultrasound and magnetic resonance (MR) images. The approach integrates two stages. The first is the unsupervised clustering which combines multidimensional scaling (MDS) with K-Means. The dimension reduction based on MDS is employed to obtain fewer representative variates...

Localized Sliced Inverse Regression

We developed localized sliced inverse regression for supervised dimension reduction. It has the advantages of preventing degeneracy, increasing estimation accuracy, and automatic subclass discovery in classification problems. A semisupervised version is proposed for the use of unlabeled data. The utility is illustrated on simulated as well as real data sets.

Sliced inverse regression for high-dimensional time series

Methods of dimension reduction are very helpful and almost a necessity if we want to analyze high-dimensional time series since otherwise modelling affords many parameters because of interactions at various time-lags. We use a dynamic version of Sliced Inverse Regression (SIR; Li (1991)), which was developed to reduce the dimension of the regressor in regression problems, as an exploratory tool...

Manifold Regularization for SIR with Rate Root-n Convergence

In this paper, we study the manifold regularization for the Sliced Inverse Regression (SIR). The manifold regularization improves the standard SIR in two aspects: 1) it encodes the local geometry for SIR and 2) it enables SIR to deal with transductive and semi-supervised learning problems. We prove that the proposed graph Laplacian based regularization is convergent at rate root-n. The projecti...

Cluster-based regularized sliced inverse regression for forecasting macroeconomic variables

This article concerns the dimension reduction in regression for large dataset. We introduce a new method based on the sliced inverse regression approach, called cluster-based regularized sliced inverse regression. Our method not only keeps the merit of considering both response and predictors information, but also enhances the capability of handling highly correlated variables. It is justified ...
